Chill on Park opened in May 2015 in Fields Corner, with seating for 19 inside and close proximity to a park. The menu includes more than 30 flavors of ice cream, sundaes, ice cream pies, frappes, ice cream cookie sandwiches, ice cream treats for dogs, and lots more. There are also a variety of coffee and tea beverages, snacks, pastries from Haley House, and a couple of daily soups.

Eating ice cream is a year-round sport in New England, but we’re right in the thick of its prime season now. While the Boston area boasts a large number of essential ice cream destinations that have been around for years, here’s a round-up of the newest spots where you can satisfy that cold, sweet craving.
This map focuses on brick-and-mortar ice cream shops that have been around for about two years or less. In this update, we’ve added Forge Ice Cream Bar and Tipping Cow in Somerville, FoMu in the South End, and The Scoop N Scootery in Arlington. Double Chin is also new to the list — it’s not exactly an ice cream shop, but its ice cream-based desserts are summer must-tries.
